SIAL China 2018 off to Running Start with Promising Lineup of Professional Events and Record SIAL Innovation Submissions

 SIAL China, Asia's largest food innovation exhibition will attract hundreds of thousands of exhibitors and professional visitors from around the world to the Shanghai New International Expo Center from May 16 to May 18. Professionals interested in all aspects of the food and beverage industry will attend the many events and attractions held at this annual exhibition. SIAL China 2018 is expected to welcome a new record number of visitors who will be able to explore industry trends, innovations, and build their knowledge and network at these event

SIAL Innovation: The crown jewel of the SIAL network, SIAL Innovation is a competition that recognizes the most cutting-edge products in the food and beverage industry. SIAL China received a record number of submission for 2018, with more than 600 products vying for the prestigious award. Of these, only the top 10 products will be shortlisted and awarded by the panel of industry experts and representatives from XTC World Innovation. Professional visitors will be able to see the Gold, Silver, and Bronze Winners announced during the afternoon of May 16, in Hall E3. SIAL Innovation winning products benefit from media exposure and other marketing and promotion activities.

La Cuisine: In cooperation with World Association of Chefs' and China Cuisine Association, five domestic and three international teams will compete to be named Top Chef, a one-of-a-kind cooking competition held in Hall W4. This year's competitors will be using fresh and accessible ingredients to reflect the trend towards easy recipes with fresh and nutritious ingredients. With eight expert Judges, teams will be looking to demonstrate their creativity, presentation skills, and ability to create something truly unique and delicious.

Seafood Fest’: Protein-rich, nutritious, and naturally grown seafood are more popular than ever before. Hosted by China Aquatic Products Processing & Marketing Association, the Marine Stewardship Council, and the Norwegian Seafood Council, Seafood Fest’ will feature cooking demonstrations in Hall E7.

Wine Innovation Forum: A host of lectures by a star-studded lineup of wine experts such as Master Sommelier Darius Allyn and David Forer in Hall E4. Join the Wine Innovation Forum and explore a variety of wines, including Portuguese Vinho Verde, New Zealand Pinot Noir, and wines from Washington State, or enjoy a wine pairing with traditional Chinese cuisine.

China National Specialty Tea Brewing Cup: Contestants with exceptional talent will demonstrate brewing techniques that fuse modern and traditional methods during the fourth China National Specialty Tea

Brewers Cup. Endorsed by Cafe Culture and the Australasian Specialty Tea Association (AASTA), the Competition will explore the essence of tea brewing in Hall E4.

Retail & Hospitality Forum: In Hall W1, guest speakers that include the European Union, Euromonitor, GIRA Conseil, JD.com, and Alibaba, will share their analysis of trends in such areas as geographical indication labels, dairy markets, food services, private labels, boundary-less retail, and new sales formulas used on collaborative platforms.

Chocolate World: To meet the demand for premium chocolate in China and Asian markets, and by request of leading international chocolate brands, this SIAL China exclusive event formula, held in Hall W2 standouts for its extraordinary decoration and range of delicious and informative activities. Chocolate World will reveal its official mascot on May 16 during the opening ceremony.

International Cold Chain Logistic Hall: With Cold Chain Logistics key to the success of China's E-commerce and New Retail boom, the International Cold Chain Logistic Hall was a huge success during its inaugural year at SIAL China 2017. In Cooperation with Cold Chain Logistic Committee (CCLC) of China Federation of Logistics and Purchasing (CFLP), the International Cold Chain Logistic Hall, located in Hall W5 will be expanded this year. Benefiting visitors who will be able to see the latest innovations from more than 150 exhibitors, join an ‘ask the expert’ program, and see a seminar on global cold chain market trends.

Geographical Indication Specialty: A well-decorated space displaying geographical indicators in Hall N5. Supported by famous domestic agricultural food brands like Lishui Shangeng, authorities of Heilongjiang and Gansu Provinces, and overseas food makers, this area will become the perfect space to network and share industry experiences and knowledge.
